Abstract

The invention discloses a multi-zone vertical alignment LCD using a field stray for amplication. Each pixel is divided into color dots. In addition, each pixel comprises an amphi-position surface field stray amplifier. The amphi-position surface field stray amplifier spaces each color dot of a pixel. Voltage directions of the color dots and the amphi-position surface field stray amplifier are set to make the field stray in each color dot generate a plurality of liquid crystal zones in each color dot. Specifically, the color dots and the amphi-position surface field stray amplifier are set so that adjacent polarized components have opposite polarities. Efficiency of the display is further enhanced by using a sliced common electrode. The sliced common electrode has a common electrode cutting on the color dots.
